First, let's look at what the HOA fee covers for the home. Since 24 W. Paseo Celestial is a "patio" home, meaning the front yard area is shared between a number of homes, as is the driveway area, the front yard, public side yard (when standing in front of 24 W. Paseo Celestial, this is the yard to right of the home), and back yard are all maintained by the HOA. That means the landscaping maintenance, watering, lighting (the pathway lighting), are all paid for and maintained by the HOA in these areas. So the only part of the exterior landscaping the homeowner is responsible for is the private side yard (the fenced in yard to the left of the home when looking at it from the front).

Next let's see what you get access to by being part of the HOA. There are a lot of amenities that are included as part of the HOA. The first and obvious one is access to the water park and pools in the community. There's of course the main pools and water park in Club Rancho Sahuarita, which is within walking distance of the home. There's also a satellite pool just down the road on Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. This is the one our family usually goes to since it's less crowded than the main pool. There's another pool up in the north section of Rancho Sahuarita as well. Access to all of these pools are included as part of the HOA.
There's also a fitness center with cardio and resistance machines in Club Rancho Sahuarita, which is within walking distance of the home at 24 W. Paseo Celestial. The fitness center also offers over 50 free fitness classes a week, a culinary demonstration kitchen, child play area, pre-teen recreation center, Kids activities include camp outs, summer camps, teen lock in, teen open rec, and even a train ride.
The HOA also hosts a farmer's market, happy hours, coffee socials, holiday celebrations, festivals, food truck round-ups, open air concerts, and outdoor family movie nights. The HOA also maintains Lake Sahuarita, which is re-stocked yearly with fish (and fishing is free for kids 12 and under, and with a permit for older fishermen). The lake also has weekend boat rentals, and other events throughout the year.
In addition to the activities, pools and Club Rancho Sahuarita, there are other parks throughout the development, including a dog park that's just around the corner from the house, and a large park area called "The Green" right next to the dog park. There's also a zoo called "Safari Park" next to the satellite pool that features life-size brass animals. The satellite pool also has basketball courts, and there's a baseball field further north in the development. And of course there are lots of kids' parks all with varying types playground equipment. In all 9 parks in the boundaries of Rancho Sahuarita along with 17 miles of walking and bike trails.
With all these amenities there's no shortage of things to do in Rancho Sahuarita, and with 24 W. Paseo Celestial, most of these are almost literally just in your backyard.
